CHAP User access authentication is used to restrict access to the iSCSI targets. The iSCSI initiator (host) is authenticated by the iSCSI target (volume).

When an initiator tries to connect to a target, it provides a user name and password to the target. This is a initiator authentication, that ensures the connection security.

To use, specify the name and CHAP target secret (user password). These credentials have to be also set also on the initiator side for the connect to target settings.

To save, click the APPLY button.

To set a new Password for the user, press OPTIONS → EDIT USER.

You can also modify these options from the main tab USER MANAGMENT.

NOTE :

Password must consist of at least 12 characters and cannot contain whitespace characters.

If users forget their password, there is no way to retrieve it. You can only set a new password.
