Mutual CHAP authentication is an additional level of security that enables the initiator to authenticate the target. It is a 2-way authentication, also called bidirectional.

When connecting to a target, advanced connection features allow specific control of a particular connection.

To use it, specify a name and target secret (user password). These credentials have to be set on the initiator, for the Mutual CHAP authentication.

To confirm the Mutual CHAP user, click the APPLY button.

NOTE:

Password must consist of at least 12 characters and cannot contain whitespace characters.

IMPORTANT:

Make sure that mutual CHAP user is different than any other CHAP user.
Mutual CHAP user password must be different from passwords of other CHAP users.
