This function allows adding a new volume to a pool or edit the already existing one. It is possible to assign a volume to the selected FC groups. Volume assigned to a FC group contains additional configuration of underlying device. Following options are available for device configuration:

<li>Access mode:<ul style="margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">
<li>Write-through - data is saved directly onto underlying device</li>
<li>Write-back - data is saved into device cache, this setting takes effect only if the underlying storage devices are set to use write back cache, otherwise, it gives no effect. This option is not available in the Block I/O mode.</li>
<li>Read only - write is not allowed to the device</li>

<li>I/O mode:<ul style="margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;">
<li>File I/O - in this mode the LUN is accessed as a file which allows the system to use page cache, this mode may give better performance over Block I/O mode.</li>

<li>FC groups - it is possible to select to which FC groups volume will be attached along with specifying a LUN for each group if needed. By default, next free LUN is used in the group. It is recommended to have LUN 0 in the group, otherwise resources may not be visible to some initiators.</li>
